Kingwood is a recently annexed 30,000 acre, wooded mixed-use development located northeast of Houston. Fire Station No. 1 was the first fire station built in Kingwood for the Kingwood Volunteer Fire Department. Designed of wood and built by a consortium of home builders for $35,000.00, this two bay fire station is still in use today, staffed by Houston Fire Department personnel.
